Borne anti moustique Qista à Carpentras - Vaucluse

Fight against the tiger mosquito: the city of Carpentras chooses the ecological and connected solution of QISTA.

THE PROLIFERATION OF THE TIGER MOSQUITO IN VAUCLUSE

The Vaucluse health authorities and residents have noticed the spread of the tiger mosquito in the area. The department has been entirely colonised, including the town of Carpentras.

Tiger mosquito is a vector of serious viral diseases such as Dengue, Chikungunya, or even the Zika virus. Faced with the need to fight against the tiger mosquito, the town of Carpentras decided to act.

Qista Mosquito Trap in Carpentras – Vaucluse

The town of Carpentras turned to an environmentally responsible and connected solution. The usual large scale mosquito control technique generally consists of dispersing neurotoxic chemical products in great quantities with no precise selectivity regarding the targeted insect. The impact of this spraying and fumigation on biodiversity is catastrophic. However, the town of Carpentras preferred to shift towards a solution that is environmentally friendly. La Provence newspaper dedicated an article to the news in its 9 August issue.

Qista installed 11 mosquito traps around the main water retention ponds to control the proliferation of the insect. The innovation of the Qista solution is that every trap is connected to ensure statistical monitoring of capture and effectiveness.

The mosquito traps installed in Carpentras are completely self-sustaining. They are also protected from vandalism (anti-intrusion and anti-graffiti).

VIDEO TESTIMONIAL OF THE MAYOR OF A VILLAGE IN CAMARGUE EQUIPPED WITH 16 MOSQUITO TRAPS

Here at Qista, our customers are happy and want to shout about it!
“Today, we have a new lease of life” – Mosquito Prevention Solutions for the village of Le Sambuc.
The village of Le Sambuc, in the heart of the Camargue Regional Nature Park, is the pilot village used for the large-scale testing of the QISTA insecticide-free mosquito elimination solution (in partnership with the Tour du Valat research centre).
Phillipe Martinez, you called on QISTA to fight the spread of mosquitoes in your village, can you tell us more? “You are in a village called Le Sambuc, in the heart of the Camargue Regional Nature Park, in the municipality of Arles.
I represent the Mayor, here in this village. A village with an immediate population of 350, 500 if you include the surrounding areas – the farms. In 2015, QISTA installed 11 mosquito traps. In 2016, we added 5 more.
So the village of Le Sambuc is equipped with 16 mosquito traps strategically installed in populated areas, especially where there are children.
The QISTA anti-mosquito machine has no impact on the environment. Zero environmental impact because it doesn’t release any chemicals, only recycled CO2 and a pheromone in the form of an essential oil.
So anyone can go near the machine. Children can go near the machine; there is absolutely no risk.
We currently believe that the machine reduces the problem by about 80% This has been validated by the biological station researchers working on the population’s perception in this test village. This test village is Le Sambuc.”

QISTA in a few words?

Intelligence, Innovation, Environment, Future Generations, Entrepreneurial Spirit.

Personally, I can say that friends can now come back to mine in the evening for a meal or drinks, something they didn’t do before because we couldn’t dine on the patio as we were devoured by mosquitoes. We have been given a new lease of life.

Thank you Philippe Martinez for this convincing testimonial which has already inspired other local authorities, for example in Quebec, to install Qista traps in Saint-Martin-de-Kamouraska.

VIDEO TESTIMONIAL AFTER THE INSTALLATION OF 2 TRAPS IN A 5 STAR HOTEL IN PROVENCE

Here at Qista, our customers are happy and want to shout about it!
“We have stopped getting complaints”: A mosquito prevention solution for the Oustau de Baumanière Hotel
To protect its customers from mosquitoes, this luxury hotel in Provence chose QISTA. Roland Arnaudet, maintenance manager on the estate tells us more: “We are in Baumanière, in the Baux-de-Provence, in a 5 star Relais Château and two star Michelin hotel and restaurant. The two QISTA mosquito traps are currently installed on two sites: the old Cabro D’Or site and the old Baumanière site.
They are installed close to the patios and rooms. Their very discrete aesthetics and lack of noise are important for the comfort of the guests. The mosquito traps are very easy for us to use and operate on a daily basis.
The very big advantage of the QISTA solution was that we were able to stop chemical treatmentsto provide protection from mosquitoes. This is very important to us, to our guests and to our beehives: the protection of the environment!
On the maintenance side, it’s very simple. We can always call QISTA, they are always there, attentive and available.
Currently we have no more guests complaining about the mosquitoes, previously they were really bothered by the bites, etc. during meals or in the rooms. In my opinion it’s a highly effective solution”.
