QISTA is proud to present its new collaboration with the Environmental Department of Al Khayyat Investments (AKI), an innovative company in the field of ecological pest control solutions. AKI, a leading company in the United Arab Emirates, which operates in nine countries in the Middle East and Africa, was looking for an effective and innovative solution as part of the implementation of an ecological mosquito control strategy.
THE MOSQUITO IS MASSIVELY PRESENT IN THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES
A global threat, mosquitoes are responsible for almost 800,000 deaths a year. Mosquitoes are formidable vectors of diseases such as malaria, dengue fever and Zika.
The United Arab Emirates are not spared the threat of mosquitoes. At least 11 species were recorded here in 2018. These include Anopheles stephensi, the primary vector of malaria, and Culex perexiguus, the main species present and vector of the West Nile virus.
The threat is exacerbated by global warming, which favours mosquito breeding conditions. In addition, their growing resistance to chemical methods highlights the need to adopt a sustainable mosquito control strategy.
AN ECOLOGICAL AND VISIONARY MOSQUITO CONTROL STRATEGY
Several hundred QISTA mosquito traps will be distributed throughout the United Arab Emirates, strengthening their arsenal as part of an environmentally-friendly, innovative and effective mosquito control strategy.
Committed to sustainable mosquito control and the prevention of epidemiological risks, AKi has found the answer to its requirements in our anti-mosquito traps.
Thanks to biomimicry, our traps, manufactured in the South of France, attract the female mosquitoes responsible for the nuisance, and then suck them into the trap. The system reduces mosquito-related nuisance by up to 88%, while preserving eco-systems with a selectivity rate of over 90%. In terms of prevention, the QISTA trap can be used to geolocate mosquito populations. This feature can then be used to map their movements, providing valuable and unique data for precise analysis and anticipation of infestation levels.
QISTA STRENGTHENS ITS INTERNATIONAL DEMOUSTICATION ACTIONS
United by a shared vision of innovation and environmental protection, the collaboration with AKI gives QISTA the opportunity to strengthen its international reputation.
Already present in 23 territories including Spain, Italy, Senegal, Tunisia and Angola, we are extremely proud to be contributing, with our eco-responsible anti-mosquito solution, to the development of integrated pest management in these regions.
