This town in the Var region has received numerous compliments since it installed 157 mosquito traps in the town. To improve comfort and limit the risks of the spread of disease, the traps have been strategically positioned near places used by vulnerable groups (children, the elderly, etc.) and areas where the tiger mosquito reproduces.
Greatly affected by the proliferation of the tiger mosquito, the town of Carpentras has installed 11 mosquito traps to protect its citizens.
The entire Vaucluse district has been colonised by the tiger mosquito over the last 4 years and it has therefore been exposed to the risks of the spread of vector-borne diseases. The town of Carpentras therefore decided to use the latest technology in an eco-responsible way to combat mosquitoes and protect its residents. Thanks to statistical monitoring, the town can check the evolution of the presence of this insect in the area at any time.
A large number of mosquitoes were caught and the number of bites dropped dramatically in the first few weeks after the traps were installed.
Located on the Tróia peninsular in Portugal, Quinta da Comporta is a 5-star wellness resort surrounded by lush rice fields and located in the heart of a nature reserve. The hotel’s management had to combat mosquitoes and the problems they generate for guests, while still respecting the eco-systems of the nature reserve.
Led by the Treasury Department, the MONIPREV project set up by the National Plan to Combat Malaria in Senegal will be completed by Qista.
Senegal is seeking to combat malaria and vector-borne diseases, and Qista fully intends to fulfil its aim to protect the population by drastically reducing the number of mosquitoes in the district of Kaolack. This is seen as a large-scale test site with the installation of 104 traps.
